Adult Psychotherapy
Adult psychotherapy is a two-way framework of interaction, where the therapist and the client work together to help the latter gain a deeper and broader understanding of the issues that concern them. The personal difficulties that an individual brings, such as anxiety, low self-esteem, depressive mood, problems in interpersonal relationships, and challenging situations like grief, divorce, illness, etc., are explored through the lens of the dynamics of the systems they interact with. By seeking connections between the individual's internal and interpersonal world, the aim is to enhance their self-awareness, highlight dysfunctional patterns of behavior, emotions, and thoughts, reveal alternative, functional pathways, and activate their resources and potential.
By building a trusting relationship in an atmosphere of acceptance and respect, it is provided space for the client to safely express their deepest needs, to recognize and accept the different aspects of themselves, to reframe the unique story of their life, to develop new narratives of their experiences, to become empowered, to find relief from pain and trauma, to gain a better sense of self-control, to take personal responsibility, to improve their relationship with themselves and others, and to move toward well-being and positive change.
