Couple Therapy

Couple therapy takes place when both partners are present. Common reasons that lead couples to seek therapy include communication problems in expressing their emotions, thoughts, and needs, conflicts and disagreements over power and control, trust issues, jealousy, infidelity, problems with sex and emotional intimacy, difficulties in managing life transitions such as parenthood, and mental health issues with the manifestation of symptoms.

Through exploring the dynamics of the relationship, the explicit and implicit terms that initially shaped it, the meanings each partner assigns to their individual and shared reality, and the needs for emotional and physical closeness, couples therapy aims to achieve a new balance between personal growth and mutual development, as well as the need for intimacy and autonomy.
